My 5 Favorite Skincare Products

As much as I love skincare products, I often feel overwhelmed when shopping for them. There are so many products on the market. It seems like every time I set out to buy some cleanser I’m suddenly wondering if I need a serum, a $300 tub of La Mer moisturizer and a cream with snail mucin as well. After years of trying different things, I’ve finally settled on a routine that’s simple, do-able and won’t break the bank. Here are my 5 favorite skincare products:

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser– $18

This cleanser works wonders. It’s very gentle, excellent for removing makeup and smells amazing. It’s all natural and contains one of my favorite ingredients in a skincare product: rosewater. Rosewater provides hydration, reduces inflammation caused by acne and helps strengthen skin cells. The scent is even said to be a mood enhancer. The best thing about this face wash is that it can be used wet as a cleanser and dry as a makeup remover so thorough, you won’t wake up with eyeliner smears on your pillowcase.

Pixi Glow Tonic– $15

Glow tonic is hands down the best toner I’ve ever used. It has an alcohol free formula that is great for sensitive skin. Glow tonic acts a gentle exfoliant that removes dirt and oil, leaving your skin clear and radiant after use. It contains soothing aloe for maximum hydration, ginseng which tones and brightens skin and more of that fabulous rosewater. For added convenience, this product is now available at Target.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask– $23

Of course I couldn’t get through this list without including at least one Korean product. Laneige’s water sleeping mask is a welcome blast of hydration for my dry skin. One of the cons of this mask is that it does contain more chemicals than I usually like to see in a skincare product but the benefits outweigh the cons. This stuff is my savior, especially in the winter months

Biossance Squalane and Vitamin C Rose Oil– $72

I know $72 is a lot to spend on a moisturizer but trust me, this stuff gets the job done. It’s a light oil that absorbs wonderfully into the skin, leaving your face moisturized and delightfully dewy. It creates the perfect base for a strobe you can see from space. Biossance will even send you a free sample of this product. Just pay shipping and handling!

Lilyana Naturals Rosehip and Hibiscus Eye Cream– $15.99

If you’re prone to dark circles like me, you’ll love Lilyana Naturals’s eye cream. I noticed a significant reduction in the prominence of my undereye circles in just a couple weeks. It can be hard to find an eye cream that doesn’t contain a lot of chemicals but this product contains 94% natural ingredients. It’s also reasonably priced compared to other undereye creams.

So there you have it, a basic but effective skincare routine that won’t put you in debt and will leave your face looking flawless.
